This year's reading incentive program will be "Tuesday Tea With Ms. T". The second Tuesday of each month, the Library Chef will host a tea party for the winning class. Tea with me will consist of iced tea, cookies and either a story or a brief art activity such as making book marks. During the year, I will try to vary the activites based on the grade level. I'm thinking of asking administration and parents to volunteer as guest readers for some of the tea parties. I'm banking on teachers to be more supportive of this format because we all could use and would value a "free" hour once a month. This way, I'm rewarding students and teachers for their efforts. I haven't worked out the details for reading logs or reviews, but I'm certain I want it to be online and simple. Bon Appetit Mes Amis!
